Several months ago we noticed that a popular website was distributing detailed veterinary information on-line. Puppy owners would write into this website asking for help, saying things like "Help, my puppy will not eat", "My puppy is bleeding," or "Oh no! I cannot get my puppy to move". These are all real comments, made by real people, who had very sick puppies; puppies that needed immediate medical attention.
I have noticed an increase in the number of popular TV. shows about dog training. Now that training is such a popular subject why are so many dogs still poorly behaved?
Sadly, for the inexperienced consumer, finding a good puppy training course can be difficult. In part, because modern dog trainers are no longer trained like they use to be. Twenty years ago dog trainers were educated through long apprenticeships, that required them to work hands on with hundreds, perhaps thousands of dogs before they trained a class of their own.
The first thing you will need to buy after you obtain your puppy is a collar. This may seem like a simple purchase but it is not. The wrong collar can have an adverse effect on your puppy's behavior and make future puppy training difficult.
